Advice to seven-year-old self:
Be always curious about how things work. Take apart toasters and turn them into musical instruments, and vice versa. Don't be claustrophobic. Be a wild girl. Hug trees and kiss frogs. Learn to use a slide rule. (Calculators are considered contraband, down a coal mine, and there's not enough light to let them work properly).
In the interests of brevity, I recommend that you read Tamar Cauldwell by Robinson Jeffers.
I'm very serious about recommending Jeffers' poetry to you; a lot of what he said comprises things that I would say, were I convinced of the merits of greater verbosity.

Lifemated confarreatio. I take it seriously.

Because people do ask, I am at nominal retirement-age, but not retired, and considering that my technical work makes for a fairly good retirement hobby. In my spare time, I am writing an engineering history of a long-abandoned colliery on the northeastern coast of Salishaan. They opened in 1881 and went bust in 1953, leaving behind a former company-town, old railway-lines in the forest, and enigmatic ruins of concrete fan-houses.

My list of interests is self-descriptive and carefully-unique; I am not for finding via keyword-search. Earned terminal post-graduate degree: that and five dollars will get you a glass of good apple-cider over ice.
